The Varsity Volleyball team fought to the very end only to come up just short in a thrilling 5-set match versus the Bowsher Rebels in the City League final held last night at Waite High School. After capturing the first set, the Lady Spartans fell behind in the second set and couldn’t recover as the Lady Rebels evened the match. In the third set, down by 5 at one point, the Lady Spartans rallied back to win the set and seemed poised to capture their first City League crown since 2015. However, Bowsher won the 4th set and put away the Lady Spartans in the 5th set after it was tied 10-10 late in the set. Alasia Easley, Emily Marsh and Tam’ea Coleman led the Lady Spartans who will now face Fremont Ross in the sectional tournament here next Wednesday, October 18th at 6:30. Tickets are $6.00 for adults and $4.00 for students. No passes will be accepted for this game.
