Boys Varsity Football · Varsity Football handles the Indians, 25-10

Led by a spirited defense, the running game came alive at the right time to post a convincing win over the host Waite Indians, 25-10. A Jermiah Beringer TD pass to Teo’ndre Patterson put the Spartans on the scoreboard and they would go onto dominate the 2nd quarter scoring 22 points in the stanza. Kevon Silas returned an interception for a touchdown and the Spartans were also lucky on a fumble at the 1 yard line by Legend Tucker only to be recovered in the end zone by Tavieon McDonald for another score. Jake Baumgartner added a 24 yard field goal for the difference.

The defense keyed in all night to the Waite running game and shut them down effectively. Devin Williams and Brock Vargas played key roles in stopping their attack. They next play on Friday, October 5th at Scott High School at 7:00 PM.
