Spartans News · Spartans grab big victory over the Rams in double overtime

In a jammed packed home crowd, the varsity boys team survived through adversity to overcome a late deficit to defeat the Rogers Rams in double overtime, 60-55. A classic battle lived up to the hype as lead changes and big buckets by both teams kept the crowd on edge. A late 3-pointer by senior Brandon Lewis forced a tie and pushed the game to overtime. No points were scored in the first overtime but the Spartans prevailed from the free throw line in the second overtime to gain their 5th straight victory.

Devin Williams and Tavieon McDonald both scored 14 points apiece while junior Dashad Floyd provided great energy off the bench again with 9 points.

The Spartans are now 5-0 overall and 3-0 in the City League. They travel to Fort Walton Beach, Florida next week for a 3 game holiday tournament.

Both the freshman and JV teams defeated Rogers as well.
