Boys Varsity Basketball, Girls Varsity Basketball · Boys and Girls teams stumble against Whimter


In front of a packed gymnasium, both the boys and girls teams lost to their arch rival on Saturday night at Start High School. A great crowd enjoyed two well played games but the Spartans came out on the short end in both varsity games.

The girls took an 11-6 lead after the first quarter but struggled to score in the final 3 quarters only to see the Lady Panthers get hot from the outside to take the victory, 46-35. Taylor Jagielski led the way with 13 points..

In the boys game, the Spartans came out cold and faced an early 9-0 deficit and trailed by as many as 13 points but battled back to tie the game at 41 late in the 3rd quarter. However, the Panthers stood strong and outscored the Spartans 12-6 in the final quarter to remain perfect on the year. The Spartans fall to 7-2 overall and 3-0 in the city league.

Dashad Floyd led the way with 15 points while Devin Williams added 11 points and Tavieon McDonald had 10 points.

The freshman and JV boys and girls teams were all victorious over the Panthers.
