Boys Varsity Basketball · Spartans get by the Rams

Despite being down 8 points in the first half, the varsity boys never panicked and kept fighting to secure a tough road victory at Rogers, 38-37. Down 6 at halftime, the Spartans went on a 14-0 run to begin the 3rd quarter spirited by guard Devin Williams and forward Alex Perry. Rogers scored the last two points of the quarter giving the Spartans a 4 point lead heading into the 4th quarter. Struggling to find their way from the outside (0-19 3-point shooting), the Spartans took their game inside despite facing a tough zone from the Rams in the second half. Alex Perry sunk two key free throws with just under a minute to go for the final difference. The Rams held the ball for the last shot but it came up short and despite some late game drama, the Spartans secured their 12th win of the season against only 2 losses while remaining perfect in the City League at 7-0.

The freshman and JV teams both were victorious.

Their next contest comes at Bowsher High School on Tuesday, February 5th at 7:30 PM.
