Boys Varsity Baseball · Baseball captures 7th City League Title in a row

On a beautiful night in Toledo, the Spartans took care of business on the field scoring 5 runs in the first two innings and defeated a pesky Waite Indians team 6-0 to capture their 7th City League title in a row. Bolstered by the pitching duo of Caleb Coyne (WP) and Robbie Sapp, the Indians only mounted any offensive threat due to walks given up as Coyne and Sapp combined to give up only 3 hits on the night.

Jacob Zales (Game MVP) had two hits along with senior Jared Watts. Zales also made a sparkling play up the middle at shortstop to thwart a rally by the Indians in the 3rd inning. The Spartans had 10 hits overall despite 3 errors on the game.

The Spartans won their 18th game on the season against only 8 losses.

Congratulations to Coach Wanner and Coach Eberle and the entire staff on a great season!
