Start High School serves approximately 600 student-athletes in 27 sports. Start has a rich tradition of excellence. Most notably, Baseball has captured 2 State Championships (1994, 2000) and Girls Track and Field captured two state titles in 1976 and 1980. In addition, the 1994 baseball team was also named National Champions that year as they completed a perfect 31-0 record. Girls Basketball has made two trips to the final four in Columbus. The 2009 team was runner-up and the 2011 team was defeated in the semi-finals. Start High School dates back to 1962 and several teams have captured Toledo City League titles.
