Varsity Football Dominates All-City Selections

Congratulations to the following Varsity Football players for being selected to the Toledo City League All-City teams. 6 Volleyball Players named to All-City Teams

Led by Player of the Year Haley Gillespie, the Lady Spartans placed 6 players on the Toledo City League Volleyball All-City teams. Joining Haley on the first team are Mariah Repass and Demi Jackson. Sabrina Trenchik achieved 2nd team All-City honors while both Brookelyn Cosper and Brittany McDuffie were named to the Honorable Mention team.

Pennywitt comes up short in bid for State CC

Congratulations to senior CC runner Ethan Pennywitt on his fine season. Ethan competed in the Boys CC Regional race Saturday in Tiffin but fell short in his bid to reach the state CC tournament next weekend. Spartan Nation is proud of you and your effort!

Varsity Football completes 9-1 regular season with CL crown and State Playoff berth

  The varsity football team capped a magical regular season by defeating the visiting Rogers Rams last night, 48-20. Their win captured the school’s first City League Football Championship since 1978. The win also sealed a first ever trip to the State Football Playoffs against an opponent yet to be determined. Boys 7/8 Basketball Tryouts begin Monday, November 2nd

Tryouts for the 7/8 Boys Basketball teams will begin next Monday, November 2nd at 4:00. The tryouts will take place at Whittier Elementary. Please bring proper shoes and clothing to the tryouts. Tryouts will be all next week, Monday – Thursday at Whittier Elementary.

Volleyball season ends at NDA

The volleyball team fell to the Notre Dame Academy Eagles this past Saturday ending their season. The team never found its groove in falling to the Eagles in 3 sets. Congratulations on a fine season and representing Start High School in the best way possible!

Both Cross-Country teams competed in the District race this past weekend at Pearson Park. Although neither team moved on to Regionals, Ethan Pennywitt qualified as an individual with a 14th place showing and a time of 17:24. Boys and Girls Soccer seasons come to a close in Sectionals

  The boys soccer team fell to St. John’s Jesuit Wednesday night, 9-0, while the girls soccer team lost to state ranked Perrysburg by the same score. These two games conclude each of their seasons. Many thanks to our coaches and players on a fine season for both teams!

Varsity Football easily handles the Polar Bears, 40-0

Led by the two-headed attack of Brandon Winters and Stephon Watson, the varsity football team ran their record to 7-1 (3-0 CL) with a 40-0 victory over the host Woodward Polar Bears.
