Spartans trip up the Rebels

Devin Williams named Honorable Mention All-Ohio

Congratulations to junior guard Devin Williams on being selected Division I All-Ohio Honorable Mention. Williams, who averaged 13 points a game, helped lead the Spartans to their first City League title since 2013. Congrats Devin!

Devin Williams 2nd team All-District; Perry Honorable Mention

Congratulations to juniors Devin Williams and Alex Perry who were both named to the Division I All-District teams. Williams, who averaged 13 points a game, was named to the 2nd team while Alex received Honorable Mention honors. Congratulations guys! Keep working hard!

Coach Matt Wortham named District Division I Co-Coach of the Year

Congratulations to head boys basketball coach Matt Wortham who was named the Division I Co-Coach of the Year for the NW district. Coach Wortham led the Spartans to their most wins in a season with 19 and guiding the Spartans to the City League championship for the first time since 2013. Congratulations Coach Wortham!

Varsity Boys season comes to an abrupt end

Heading into the sectional final at Central Catholic, the varsity boys team had only tasted defeat one time in 2018 and that was on January 6th against Rogers. Varsity Boys roll past Perrysburg, 61-41

The varsity boys continued their fine play limiting Perrysburg to just 16 first half points winning convincingly on Senior Night over the Yellow Jackets, 61-41. Nick Neely connected on 4 long range 3’s for 12 points while team high Tyrik Barbine scored 22 points to lead the Spartans to their 17th win on the season.
